New Marine First Aid Courses for Fall

As another summer comes to a close, its time to buckle down and take a course!  We've now added a couple extra courses for the upcoming fall!  As there are always numerous courses running and additions to any of our classes would usually be welcome, have have 2 upcoming courses for both Marine Basic and Marine Advanced first aid courses that are open to everyone. 

Marine Basic First Aid
Date:  Oct 1st and 2nd
Location:  North Saanich

Marine Advanced First Aid
Dates:  Nov 7th to 10th
Location:  Saanichton

2 Day Marine Basic First Aid

Before venturing onto the water this summer, make sure you have the skills necessary to respond to an emergency should one happen on the water.  We are more vulnerable on the water than we are on land.  While its nice to think we have access to wonderful help....but there is usually at least a good 30 mins that we have to manage the situation until that help arrives.   Would you know what to do?

This 2 day Transport Canada Certified course in Marine Basic First Aid will prep you with the basic skills required to manage an emergency condition should you have one.  

We are offering a 2 day course on April 30/May 1st.  Location will be determined based on participants an will be held in Greater Victoria area.  Registration is based on a first come first serve basis with a limited number of seats.  Inquire today to secure your seat!

Upcoming Marine Advanced First Aid Course

Looking for a MAFA course in the Greater Victoria area?  We will be putting on a Marine Advanced First Aid course May 2-6th 2016.  Upon successful completion, this will give you a Transport Canada Marine Advanced First Aid certification. Please be sure to bring your CDN# to class.  If you are not sure what it is, let us know and we can help.

Looking for evening First Aid classes in January?

Did you know, that ~70% of emergencies happen at home?  Do you feel confident and know what to do until help arrives?  

As i understand it can be hard to break away for a whole weekend, we have decided to offer a standard first aid course in collaboration with the Brentwood Bay Power and Sail Squadron that would take place on Tuesday nights for 5 weeks starting January 12th 2016.  At the end of this, you will be certified to a Standard First Aid level and will have covered all the topics outlined here:  www.activetraining.ca/sfa/

Courses will start at 7pm each tuesday at Claremont School.

We have been receiving a lot of interest in a MED A3 course.  We want to put it out there for anyone who would be interested and if we have enough interest to run a class in the Victoria area, we will put on a course at the end March!  Let us know today if you are interested!

Standard First Aid course set for Oct 18/19th 2014

Now that we have a proper avenue to direct interest to, we are starting to fill up some dates for various courses.  The location is being determined and will be local to Victoria, Vancouver Island.

We have decided to hold a Standard First Aid course (SFA) October 18/19 9am-5pm each day.  This 2 day course will allow you to walk away with the confidence to respond to most life threatening situations providing care ensuring the best chance of survival until professional help can arrive and take over.  For full course information, visit our SFA page here.

Marine Advanced First Aid - Date Change

Our course dates for the Marine Advanced First Aid Course being put on in November has been changed to Nov 12-15th.  In this class, we will learn about spinal injuries, major breaks, bleeds, CPR, packaging and other specifics relating to first aid emergencies in the marine environment at an advanced level.  Anyone wanting to increase their knowledge on first aid scenarios and walk away with a Transport Canada certification, let me know and we can get you all signed up!  Cheers all!

Within the next 2 weeks, we are putting on a CPR course in the Victoria area on Vancouver Island.  Whether you just need to re-certify or completely new to the skill, these are the things that can really save a persons life.  Let me know if you are interested in signing up.

Standard First Aid course

We are gearing up to put on a Standard First Aid course on in October in the Victoria or Saanich area.  Exact dates and locations are being determined and we'd love to add you to the list as space permits.  

The Red Cross Standard First Aid courses are 2 days typically done over 2 consecutive days.  We can be flexible with scheduling for most courses if you require.  Just let us know and we'd be happy to help where ever possible.
